Freedom of Information

About the Freedom of Information Act

The Freedom of Information (FoI) Act gives you the right to request access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities, promoting a culture of openness and accountability across the public sector. The Freedom of Information Act was passed on 30 November 2000. It gives a general right of access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities. The Act sets out exemptions to that right and places certain obligations on public authorities.

A great deal of information is routinely available within our Publication Scheme but if the information that you seek is not included then you can make a formal request for information.  The Freedom of Information Act does not change the right of patients to protect their confidentiality. We are committed to protecting you and your information. For more information see our FoI Publication Scheme which you can download via the right hand link.

FoI Publication Scheme

Our publication scheme is a complete guide to the information which is routinely published by Bexley Care Trust. The scheme sets out the classes or types of information available as listed below.

These classes are:

  • who we are and what we do
  • what we spend and how we spend it
  • what are our priorities
  • how we make decisions
  • our policies and procedures
  • lists and registers
  • the services we offer.

Due to changes in our organisation, we are currently updating our Publication Scheme as at August 2010. The new scheme will be available on the website as soon as possible.
