If you are an adult experiencing difficulties with your drug and/or alcohol use, or are affected by someone else’s use, a range of services are available in Bexley providing advice, support and treatment.
Where to get help
If you feel concerned about your drug/alcohol use, various treatment programmes are offered through South London and Maudsley NHS Trust, Drug & Alcohol Services for London (DASL) and Bexley Council. Each of these organisations can offer you an assessment of your usage and a programme of treatment that works for you.
Services offered include:
- substitute prescribing
- detoxification
- complementary therapies
- group and one to one support sessions.

Nexus provides one-to-one support, group therapy, workshops and drop-ins, as well as advising people with any type of alcohol or drug problem.

Signpost
Signpost offers community detoxification, substitute prescribing, community alcohol treatment and needle exchange; Signpost also provides access to inpatient detoxification provision. The service can provide an assessment of your substance use and provide appropriate treatment.
Signpost offers a weekly self-referral assessment clinic on Wednesdays between 9.45am – 12.30pm; appointments can also be offered at other times.

Young people aged 11 to 18 years, who are using drugs and/or alcohol problematically, can receive support by referral from the Youth Engagement Service, Howbury Centre, Slade Green Road, Erith DA8 2HX, telephone 01322 356354. Narcotics Anonymous offer a 12 step chat over the phone for those new to meetings. They will put you in touch with an addict in your area, to meet up with for a chat or to accompany you to your first meeting.
